The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, architects, and internal teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining Clayton Construction’s reputation for excellence, safety, and long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of construction projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
Manage and coordinate project teams, including superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones
Monitor project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-control measures
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns
Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication among all stakeholders
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns
Oversee procurement of materials and subcontractor agreements
Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and secure at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in commercial construction management
Proven experience managing projects such as retail, office, medical, educational, or industrial facilities
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools)
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
OSHA 30 certification or strong knowledge of workplace safety standards
Experience with design-build project delivery methods
Familiarity with budgeting, value engineering, and competitive bidding processes
