The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, architects, and internal teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining Clayton Construction’s reputation for excellence, safety, and long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution

  • Manage and coordinate project teams, including superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones

  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-control measures

  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns

  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication among all stakeholders

  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns

  • Oversee procurement of materials and subcontractor agreements

  • Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and secure at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management

  • Proven experience managing projects such as retail, office, medical, educational, or industrial facilities

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes

  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools)

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed

  • OSHA 30 certification or strong knowledge of workplace safety standards

  • Experience with design-build project delivery methods

  • Familiarity with budgeting, value engineering, and competitive bidding processes
